ClipMemo User Guide

ClipMemo

ClipMemo allows you to create card-based notes based on audio and video, just like writing card notes.

What ClipMemo can help you do

  • Extract knowledge from fast-paced educational short videos
  • Video memos, save special clips for later reference (such as fitness tutorials, game guides)
  • Practice speaking while watching shows, capture high-quality expressions for repeated practice
  • Use videos for education, highlight key points in advance to show learners

Why we created ClipMemo

Now, we have entered the era of fragmented consumption. One important medium is video. Think about the ratio of your video and text consumption - which one is more?

You can find any topic you're interested in on video platforms and learn deeply. But have you fallen into the "collection trap (hoarding syndrome)"?

Think about the last video you watched - maybe it was an interesting piece of trivia that made you curious, but do you still remember it?

If you remember, think about the videos you watched yesterday - do you still remember them?

If you remember, think about the content of videos that interested you last month - do you still remember their content?

I bet you don't remember.

Research shows that long-term consumption of short videos affects memory. We hope to extend the half-life of knowledge in another way. In this regard, there are many mature tools, but most use text as the medium, ignoring the importance of audio and video.

How to amplify the benefits of video, break the collection trap, and connect fragmented knowledge to build a personal knowledge base - this is our original intention for creating ClipMemo.

What ClipMemo cannot help you do

  • Digest deep, note-intensive videos, such as Stanford online courses. We recommend using more professional note-taking software
  • Amplify the benefits of fragmented knowledge: fragmented knowledge remains fragmented. To truly master a field, you need long-term systematic in-depth study
  • Sticky notes
  • Audio and video editing
